Carolien Gibb About Me
Carolien Gibb

Board-Certified Sexologist • Relationship Therapist • ADHD & Neurodivergent Couple Specialist
Hi, I’m Carolien Gibb — a board-certified, internationally recognised Sexologist, Relationship Therapist, and Neurosexology Researcher.
I help individuals and couples navigate intimacy, sexuality, and neurodivergent relationship dynamics with compassion, science, and a little bit of fun.
My work is warm, real, and deeply human.
I believe therapy should feel like a safe space where your story is honoured, your identity is respected, and your sexuality is understood — never judged.
My Approach: Where Sexology Meets Neurodiversity
I specialise in the intersection of:
*Sexual health & intimacy
*ADHD and neurodivergent relationships
*Couples therapy for communication & connection
*Emotional regulation & relational dynamics
This unique blend allows me to support clients who feel “different,” misunderstood, overwhelmed, or stuck in cycles of conflict, desire mismatch, shame, or emotional intensity.
Whether you’re dealing with sexual pain, low desire, intimacy avoidance, ADHD-driven relationship struggles, or communication breakdowns — you’ll find a safe, affirming space with me.
My approach is:
*sex-positive
*neurodivergent-affirming
*research-based
*inclusive of LGBTQIA+, kink, and diverse relationship structures
*culturally sensitive
*focused on both emotional and physical wellbeing
I see therapy as a combination of science, connection, curiosity, and empowerment.

A Therapist With A Global Lens
I originally come from South Africa — a place of immense cultural diversity — which has deeply shaped my ability to create inclusive, non-judgmental therapeutic spaces for people from all backgrounds, identities, and relationship structures.
I now practise internationally, online across Europe/UK, and the USA online.
I also supervise therapists on the platform It’s Complicated, helping new clinicians develop their sexology and relationship therapy skills.
Who I Am (Outside the Therapy Room)
Clients often describe me as:
warm, direct, funny, deeply caring, and easy to talk to.
I bring a mix of:
Science, empathy, curiosity, grounding and a little bit of cheeky humour …because intimacy and sexuality are human, complex, and sometimes messy — and that’s okay.
I believe people heal best when they feel safe enough to be their full selves.
